Hosting
Dedicated, Redundant, Load Balanced, Reliable
Like us, a lot of companies use great server farms with a lot of bandwidth. They install state of the art hardware and software. They backup and maintain their systems diligently. Yet they still have a lot of down time. Why?
Usually it boils down to two things: Load-balancing and redundancy.
Redundancy + Load Balancing = Reliability
That is the formula we use in designing all wddonline hosting solutions.
Web Servers
- wddonline only hosts sites we maintain so our servers are very secure and reliable.
- RAID hard drive configuration.
- No single hard drive failure can bring a WDDonline web server down.
- All new wddonline C4 websites are deployed on at least two Load Balanced web servers.
- Even if an entire server goes down your site stays up.
- If there is a sudden "surge" of traffic to your site the load is "balanced" across the web servers to ensure not only uptime but a fast pleasant user experience.
Database Servers
- wddonline uses multiple clustered database servers that connect to wddonline web servers through "back end" connections. This makes them more secure since they are then not directly accessible to the Internet.
- RAID hard drive configuration.
- No single hard drive failure can bring a wddonline database server down.
- Clustered databases are a form of load-balancing for your data.
- Even if an entire Database server goes down your data is available and does not get corrupted.
Mail Servers
- wddonline always maintains at least two backup mail servers.
- wddonline backup mail servers are in different areas of the country and have different ISP connections to the Internet and different domain names.
- This protects your Mail from any regional Internet issues.
- This protects your Mail from any single ISP carrier failure.
- This protects you from any Mail issue related to a Mail server domain name.
Domain Name Servers
- wddonline maintains at least three DNS servers at all times.
- At least two DNS servers are always in different areas of the country and have different ISP connections to the Internet and different domain names.
- This protects your DNS from any regional Internet issues.
- This protects your DNS from any single ISP carrier failure.
- This protects you from any DNS issue related to a DNS server domain name.
