Ed Weiland
Ed's journey on the web design and development path began in 1997 with a deeply rooted foundation in HTML mark-up and fundamental design theory. A Penn State Architectural Engineering graduate, Ed channeled his passions for emerging Internet technologies, journalism, film, animation and comic books into a driving force that steered him toward web development.
With an educational and professional background that merged artistic design and engineering fundamentals, Ed revels in his ability to perform on-stage as a designer while working behind the curtain as a developer. He also feels extremely fortunate.
"I'm extremely blessed to be able to wear creative hats as well as hard hats when it comes to web development. Having a balanced skill set that dips into the realms of the abstract and scientific is liberating and fun."
When he's not creating web solutions at WDD Online, Ed enjoys everything associated with the sport of hockey. Despite playing inline hockey, viewing countless NHL games, managing his fantasy hockey league's web site and cheering on his beloved Red Wings , Ed just can't seem to get enough of the sport.
But on those rare occasions when he's not at the rink, Ed enjoys kissing his wife, listening to too much music, reading "good" fiction, watching "good" movies, turning up the volume of his home theater, balancing the checkbook, wrestling with Oliver -- his cat, driving his Honda and criticizing most of George Lucas' post-1981 output.
